When Tony was first diagnosed in July 2013, he wanted to do something special and competive with his three sons and father while he was still feeling well. The Duggan Decathalon was created and consisted of different events from bowling, corn-hole, basketball, frisbee golf, putt-putt, and golf. The events lasted a day and a half and were followed up by a Trophy presentation where Tony was deemed the 2013 Duggan Decathalon Champion. Everyone had a great time and we decided to hold the Decathalon again once Tony was cured but invite family and friends.
We held the First Annual Duggan Decathalon benefitting Project Peace August 15 – 17, 2014. We had 11 teams of two participating in over 8 events. We gave trophies for each event and we ended the weekend with a round of golf for whoever wanted to participate. It was a great weekend, bringing awareness to Head and Neck Cancer and Project Peace. We raised over $500 that went directly to the legal fees associated with starting Project Peace. Tony and his son, Alex finished in first place along with Trevor Denier and Tyler Landrith coming in a close 2nd place.
